Horrified: World of Monsters is a standalone cooperative game built around four legendary threats: the Sphinx, Yeti, Jiangshi, and Cthulhu. Heroes move through a town connected to a mysterious interdimensional doorway, collect colour-coded items, escort citizens to safety, and spend those items to complete each monster’s unique objective. Every hero has a special ability, so the group must coordinate routes and actions while the monster deck advances enemies, creates incidents, and raises the terror level. The familiar Horrified structure makes the turn easy to follow, but the challenges diverge sharply: this set adds lairs and the series’ first multi-phase confrontation, making Cthulhu feel like a final crisis rather than a larger health track. Different monster combinations scale difficulty and reshape priorities, supporting both solo and group play. World of Monsters can also exchange compatible monsters with Horrified: Greek Monsters, extending the puzzle pool without losing the accessible, story-forward rhythm that defines the series.
