How it plays

How does it play?

Roll paired black-and-white dice, choose two lab actions, let rivals borrow one combination, and develop the most productive AquaSphere station.

Read the full game description

OctoDice compresses the underwater research of AquaSphere into a quick roll-and-write with unusually interactive dice. The active player rolls three white and three black dice, removing exactly two after each roll. When all six have been selected, each white-and-black pair forms an action, but only two pairs can be used. Those combinations send bots back to work, collect crystals, dock submarines, catch octopods, or expand a personal laboratory for permanent bonuses and extra scoring routes. The central twist is that everyone stays involved: after the active player commits, opponents may use one available combination on their own sheets. A generous roll can therefore accelerate the whole table, while an awkward selection may deny a rival the symbol-value pairing they were waiting for. Six rounds create a short arc in which early lab upgrades must repay their cost before specialized scoring converts the final dice into points.
