New Cold War is a geopolitical card-driven game spanning 1989 to 2019. One to four players direct the United States, European Union, Russia, and China through 135 historical events, using influence and action points to shape the emerging world order. Early play places the Western powers against a China–Russia alignment, but every power ultimately answers to its own hidden agenda. The result is a sharp semi-cooperative struggle: temporary partners must contain shared threats without giving a future rival too much room to pursue a private victory.
