Prophecy is a trick-taking game in which Mayan priests compete to interpret the future. Before each round, players secretly sacrifice cards and use them to declare a target for the number of tricks they expect to win. Standard follow-suit play is therefore only half the puzzle: every card taken matters in relation to the prediction, and a strong hand can be as dangerous as a weak one when it pulls a player past the promised result. Accurate prophecies score, while missed targets leave rivals closer to victory.
