Piñatas is a quick trick-taking game in which timing the exit matters more than simply winning the most tricks. Players follow the lead suit, with a round-specific trump color overturning ordinary rank. Once a player reaches the required number of tricks, they leave the round and score the tricks already won by everyone else. Going out later can therefore be more valuable, but the last remaining player scores only their own tricks. That single twist gives every hand a lively risk curve: win too quickly and the table has not built enough value, wait too long and the best scoring opportunity disappears. Rank-zero cards can topple the highest card of their suit, while tricks won with a five or seven split into two piles, creating sudden exits and sharp tempo shifts. Player-count rules tune the deck and exit threshold from two to five. Reiner Knizia's compact design is easy to teach, highly interactive, and full of decisions about when to seize control and when to let somebody else take the candy.
