Penny Black casts players as philatelists assembling the most valuable stamp albums. Each round, everyone chooses one market sheet and takes its three stamp tiles, then fits those pieces into a personal grid. Shared tile colors and shapes meet different private collection criteria, so a placement that completes one set can block another sequence or leave an awkward gap. Collector cards define the scoring priorities for each album, while the coveted Penny Black stamp can enhance a collection if it appears. After ten rounds, players total their completed patterns and bonuses. The tactile acrylic tiles, simultaneous planning, and small differences between personal objectives create a brisk spatial-drafting puzzle with just enough competition for the market display.
