Read the full game description

Nuclear Escalation expands the black comedy of Nuclear War while remaining playable as a standalone confrontation. Players begin as unstable world powers with hidden populations and hands of propaganda, secrets, missiles, bombers, warheads, defenses, and special effects. The opening cold war rewards bluffing and population theft, but diplomacy inevitably collapses and each player programs attacks by pairing delivery systems with compatible warheads. Cruise missiles, MX missiles, B-1 bombers, space platforms, spies, killer satellites, and deliberately absurd disasters broaden both offensive options and ways for a plan to misfire. Defensive cards can interrupt attacks, while a defeated power’s final retaliation may destroy the apparent winner. Hand management therefore sits beside negotiation and gallows humor: every powerful strike reveals intent, consumes scarce combinations, and invites a response. The set can also be integrated with Nuclear War, Nuclear Proliferation, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Nuclear Destruction.
