Read the full game description

Here Come the Rebels is the second volume in the Great Campaigns of the American Civil War series, focused on the 1862 Maryland Campaign and the operations that culminated at Antietam. The map uses approximately one-mile hexes, while leaders and formations move through day turns shaped by initiative, command, fatigue, terrain, weather, and uncertain marches. Forced movement can seize a crucial road or concentration point, but exhaustion and a stretched supply network may leave an army unable to capitalize. Cavalry screens, depots, foraging, railroads, and the timing of combat make logistics as important as raw strength. Multiple scenarios isolate engagements and operational problems around Harpers Ferry, South Mountain, and Antietam, while the full campaign asks both players to balance historical pressures with the opportunities created by each activation roll.
