Read the full game description

Stonewall Jackson's Way is the first Great Campaigns of the American Civil War operational wargame, recreating the campaign that culminated at Second Manassas. Units represent brigades and divisions moving across a detailed hex map of northern Virginia. Leaders activate formations, road and rail networks shape operational reach, and extended marches trade speed for fatigue and vulnerability. When armies collide, players weigh battle odds, terrain, command structure, and the risk of disengagement rather than resolving every encounter as a stand-alone tactical game. Scenarios range from compact episodes to a demanding campaign, with Jackson’s wide movement and Pope’s response creating an asymmetric contest of timing and information. The system rewards realistic concentration, screening, and preservation of an army while still giving both sides opportunities to rewrite the campaign through bold marches and well-chosen battles.
