Fighting Formations: US 29th Infantry Division is a stand-alone tactical World War II design in Chad Jensen’s Fighting Formations series. It follows the American division through scenario-driven engagements using platoon-level units, hex-grid movement, command initiative, order selection, and detailed combat resolution. The system’s variable phase order makes tempo as important as firepower: players must decide when to seize initiative, rally, maneuver, or press an attack. Solo support and a substantial scenario set broaden the study beyond head-to-head play.
