Farlight casts players as private space companies competing to build capable ships and complete ambitious missions. Each round begins with workers placed as concealed bids on spacecraft modules, facilities, colonists, and mission contracts. Winning the right tile is only the beginning: modules must fit into a coherent craft, provide the right scientific capabilities, and meet the requirements of the missions a company hopes to claim. Resources are tight enough that an expensive victory can leave a later section unfinished. The combination of blind bidding, open information around the market, and spatial ship construction makes every round a calculation about value, timing, and what rivals are willing to sacrifice.
