Read the full game description

Gibberers is a cooperative word game about inventing both a language and the civilization that speaks it. Players receive concepts they must communicate without ordinary speech, gradually agreeing on new sounds, signs, and written vocabulary. Every successful exchange expands a shared lexicon that can be reused in later turns, turning early nonsense into a surprisingly expressive system. Deduction matters because a word’s intended meaning must be inferred from context, while communication limits prevent the group from simply explaining away ambiguity. Civilization development provides an arc and purpose for the language beyond individual clues. The official English card set makes the Japanese Hobby Japan edition playable in English, and the resulting session is as much a creative social experiment as a conventional puzzle.
