Chichén Itzá is Stefan Feld’s ninth City Collection design, set around a sacred Mayan city threatened by legendary creatures. Across six rounds, each player takes four actions to recruit heroes, gain god cards, develop a personal engine, move forces, and compete for villages, temples, and ruins. Action timing affects cost, area control creates pressure on shared sites, and dice add uncertainty to battles against creatures and rival players. Final scoring rewards a carefully coordinated mix of achievements, controlled areas, defeated creatures, heroes, god cards, and crystals.
