Cahoots is a competitive trick-taking game in which no player can succeed without briefly conspiring with every opponent. Each hand creates shifting incentives to cooperate, negotiate, bluff, and backstab, even though only one player can ultimately win. The noir espionage setting reinforces the central tension: partnerships are useful but never safe. Careful hand management and an eye for who benefits from each trick turn familiar card-play ideas into a sharp social contest.
