Read the full game description

A Message From the Stars is a deduction game about scientists attempting to understand an alien language through controlled experiments. One side knows a hidden system that assigns numerical values to letters or words; the scientists send carefully chosen messages and receive only numeric responses. Each reply becomes evidence, and the group must compare patterns, test hypotheses, and infer the code without violating the game’s communication limits. Cooperative play lets all scientists pool their reasoning against the puzzle, while team play gives two alien players their own side of the conversation and introduces competitive pressure. Because every ordinary-looking word can be designed as an experiment, strong play is less about vocabulary than information value: isolate one feature, distinguish competing theories, and avoid redundant questions. In roughly forty-five minutes the session moves from bewildering transmissions to a satisfying final decode. Player screens, card slots, and visible number feedback keep the reasoning tangible at groups from two to eight.
