Square One is an abstract pattern-building game built around a tactile resource queue. Players draft shapes and colors, manipulate the order of pieces on their personal board, and spend action points to satisfy increasingly valuable pattern cards. Completing one objective changes the material available for the next, so efficient turns depend on seeing several moves ahead. The rules remain approachable while the shared draft and race for combinations add just enough pressure to the spatial puzzle.
