Serengeti is a compact auction game in which collectors compete for sets of African art cards. Players pay the winning bid to their opponents, so money continually circulates around the table. The twist is a restrictive bidding system: numbers visible in a player’s collection can make matching bids unavailable later, forcing the table to read both cash and card displays. Every lot changes the value of future opportunities, and a cheap purchase may be more useful for the bid it blocks than for the set it completes.
