Railways of the Lost Atlas is a substantial railway and investment game built around a map that changes before every play. Players found companies, auction shares, lay track, connect cities, and deliver goods to increase company income. The central twist is that a company and its president are not the same thing: anyone can buy into a promising railway, so helping your own network may enrich a rival while a timely investment can let you profit from someone else’s work. Company treasuries, route costs, ownership percentages, and operating order all demand attention, yet the modular board prevents a single opening from becoming routine. Its solo mode and broad player-count range preserve the same economic puzzle at different scales. The result is a deliberate, highly interactive train game in which the best route on the map matters only if the share structure lets you capture its value.
