Read the full game description

Pocket Battles: Celts vs. Romans condenses a two-player miniature wargame into a small box of unit tiles. Players agree on an army-point limit, secretly recruit troops, and organize them into units across the left, center, and right sectors of a two-row battlefield. Each round supplies a handful of order tokens. Activating the same unit repeatedly becomes progressively more expensive, forcing commanders to spread attention or pay heavily for a decisive assault. Ranged units shoot across sectors, melee troops engage opposing front lines, and dice resolve attacks against the hit numbers printed on each tile. Leaders and special abilities reward coherent formations, while redeployment between rounds lets an army shore up a weak flank. The battle ends when one side destroys at least half of the opponent’s starting army value, producing a complete tactical arc in about thirty minutes.
