Kilia is a historical strategy game about merchant families helping shape the Baltic city of Kiel. On each turn, a player drafts one of five action cards, paying when their keys do not provide enough access, then uses that card as a merchant or as an expansion. The city hall, castle, university, shipyard, warehouse, market, contracts, and council phase create linked routes to coins and points. Because each family has only four scoring chips, deciding where and when to commit them is the central tension.
