Kanal is Uwe Rosenberg’s streamlined reworking of Oranienburger Kanal for one or two players. Each player develops an industrial landscape by constructing buildings and linking them with paths, streets, railways, and canals. Bridges and route connections let neighboring buildings support one another, turning careful spatial planning into production and points. Action selection is tied to a resource wheel: using one option changes the relative value and availability of the others, so every gain also shapes the tempo of the following turns. Buildings introduce distinct powers and scoring goals, while variable setup changes the puzzle from game to game. The result is a focused economic network game that supports competitive two-player play and a dedicated solo challenge in about forty-five minutes.
