Kabuto Sumo: Sakura Slam is a standalone sequel built around the tactile pleasure and unexpected physics of a coin-pusher arcade game. Players choose asymmetric insect wrestlers, then use a notched platform to slide wooden discs into a crowded square arena. Every push shifts a chain of pieces, creating opportunities to knock an opponent over the edge while risking your own wrestler. Four fixed corner posts reshape familiar lines of attack, and each turn begins from a chosen corner. Tagging all four corners earns an extra push, encouraging players to circle the arena instead of repeating the safest angle. Eight wrestlers bring distinctive signature pieces and powers, from positional tricks to dramatic stacking effects. Two players duel for the title belt, three can play free-for-all, and four divide into teams. A simplified Junior League lowers the entry barrier for younger players. Sakura Slam works entirely on its own, while most characters and expansions remain compatible with the original Kabuto Sumo roster.
