Inori is an interactive worker-placement game set beneath a sacred tree shared by several villages and its colorful spirits. The game lasts four seasons. On a turn, a player places an Offering marker on an open space of a Spirit card or on the Great Tree, pays any cost, and resolves that space’s effect to gain favors, runes, or points. Completing every space on a Spirit card earns a seasonal bonus, but the card is then replaced by a stronger Journey card, collectively changing the board for the next round. Altars added to the Great Tree create further contested actions and lock in colors for final scoring. At the end of the fourth season, offerings at the tree score according to majorities in matching favor tokens. Success comes from reading opponents’ color commitments while helping create opportunities that remain useful to you.
