Henchmania casts each player as a medieval lord competing for prestige with a household of loyal but unreliable henchmen. At the beginning of each day, families place their pawns across Montfleury’s five sites, committing to the locations whose cards and powers they hope to exploit. During the action phase, those cards produce immediate tricks, lasting reserves, dice-driven risks, extra placements, and pointed attacks on rival prestige. Control of a district matters, but so does the order in which cards are played and whether a family can preserve enough influence to survive retaliation. The humor is intentionally broad—part courtly rivalry and part slapstick treachery—yet the visible board position gives players real information for negotiation, timing, and counterplay. After four days, or as soon as a lord reaches the prestige threshold, the family with the strongest coat of arms becomes Bailiff of Montfleury.
