Atlantis Rising is a fully cooperative worker-placement game about escaping a doomed island. Each round, players place their Atlanteans along six peninsulas to gather ore, gold, crystals, and other resources needed for a ten-part cosmic gate. Spaces farther from the island’s center promise better rewards but are more likely to flood when misfortune cards are revealed. Failed expeditions and lost terrain steadily compress the board, while player powers, library effects, and mystical energy help the group manage risk. The Athenians add another shared threat that must be contained without abandoning production. Every decision weighs immediate efficiency against survival: the group wins only if all gate components are completed before Atlantis disappears beneath the waves.
