Assyria: Second Edition redevelops the 2009 strategy game around the rise of nomadic tribes along the Tigris and Euphrates. Each round begins with a bid for turn order, followed by expansion across the hex map and a choice of actions from multi-use cards. Huts, offerings, influence, and monumental ziggurats all feed the scoring puzzle, but floods after rounds three and six erase everything along the rivers. Success comes from knowing when to spread quickly, when to build for permanence, and how much gold priority is really worth.
