Andromeda is Alan R. Moon’s science-fiction trading game of merchants competing across seven planets. Players collect and exchange planet cards, then commit sets to launch merchant cubes toward a world. The distinctive planet ring randomizes which cubes emerge, turning every investment into a calculated risk shaped by how many stations each rival has committed. Successful merchants establish presence, earn advantages, and eventually help claim a planet’s economic center. Technology and ship development improve efficiency and scoring, while bonus tiles reward broader plans across the system. Because the ring mixes uncertainty with visible investment and direct competition, the game asks players to balance card timing, planetary majorities, and the risk of pushing one more merchant into a crowded race.
