Above and Below: Haunted returns to Ryan Laukat’s storybook world with a standalone village-building adventure shaped by ghosts, quests, and difficult choices. Each round, villagers construct buildings, gather resources, recruit newcomers, or descend into caverns where a narrative passage presents risks and rewards. Dice resolve exploration, but preparation, worker abilities, and the route chosen through the encounter give players meaningful control. Haunted expands the original formula with new quests, buildings, villagers, and a more mysterious tone, while remaining playable on its own. Character tokens are compatible with the original Above and Below, connecting the two boxes without making either one a prerequisite.
